Your mailbox, your data
Mailcockpit is not a new email provider. It works with the mailbox you already have.
Mailcockpit connects to your mailbox via the IMAP and SMTP standards. Your address, provider and webmail stay as they are – use both side by side.
What you read, send or delete here is reflected in your webmail and on your phone. Deleted emails go to your mailbox’s trash.
The copy of your emails used for overview and search is stored on servers in Switzerland – run by a Swiss company, under Swiss data protection law.
Team features
With the Team plan, several people work in the same mailboxes and projects. Everyone has their own login; nobody needs to share mailbox passwords.
Only one person edits a reply. Others see who is writing; taking over someone else’s draft requires confirmation.
Replies, filing, pending, deletions – traceable with name and time.
Owners, admins and members. Admins decide per mailbox who can see it.
Everyone also has a private space with their own mailboxes that only they can see.
Everyone chooses which mailboxes appear on their dashboard and in their daily overview.
Everyone decides for themselves which mailbox notifies them.
Security and privacy
You’re trusting us with your correspondence. That’s why security is standard – in every plan, at no extra cost.
With an authenticator app and recovery codes; lockout after repeated failed attempts.
AES-256-GCM with a separate key per team. The master key never sits in the database or in backups.
HTTPS to the app and encrypted connections only to your email provider.
Every team has its own database, so other teams’ data is technically separated.

No. Mailcockpit connects to your existing mailbox. Your address, provider and webmail stay as they are, and you can use both side by side.
Your emails stay with your email provider. To keep overview, search and projects fast, Mailcockpit keeps a copy on servers in Switzerland. When you connect, the last 90 days are loaded by default; older emails can be loaded later.
Any mailbox that offers IMAP and SMTP – for example Gmail, GMX, iCloud Mail, Yahoo Mail, Infomaniak, Hostpoint, Bluewin and mailboxes on your own domain at your web host. The setup assistant usually detects the settings by itself.
Not yet, but soon. Outlook.com, Hotmail and Microsoft 365 mailboxes require signing in via Microsoft. This is prepared and will follow in one of the next versions. The waitlist is the first to hear when it’s ready.
Gmail works with an app password, which requires 2-Step Verification on your Google account. The setup assistant explains every step; with Solo 2, Solo 3 and Team we can do it together by video call. Google Workspace admins can block app passwords – in that case, your IT can help.
Yes. All plans are billed monthly and can be cancelled for the end of the month. If you choose setup by video call, a minimum term of 3 months applies; after that you can also cancel monthly.
Any time. All of your team’s data can be exported as a file. And your emails remain with your provider anyway.
No. An admin connects the mailbox once. Everyone else works with their own login and only sees the mailboxes they have access to.
Mailcockpit is an installable web app: open it in your browser, choose “Add to Home Screen” or “Install” – done. Notifications work on Android, Windows and Mac, and on iPhone once the app is on your home screen. App-store apps are planned for later.
No. Your emails are not analysed by AI, and your data is never used for advertising or to train AI models.
No, and it doesn’t try to. Mailcockpit takes care of your emails and the work that comes from them, and runs alongside your existing software. For smaller offices that find a large suite too much, it may be exactly right.
